Course Length - How long is the course?
The non-restricted course covers many things, as per the course outline:
- Evolution of firearms, major parts, types and actions
- Basic firearms safety practices
- Ammunition, Centerfire and Rimfire
- Operating firearms actions on these firearms types : Bolt action, Break or Hinge action, Pump action, Semi Automatic Action, Lever Action and Muzzle Loaders. Even if you are new to firearms or have many years of experience you will handle and become proficient in handling each of the listed firearms actions. Genarally you will learn how to pick them up, clear them and PROVE them safe, Identify the ammunition used in each fire arm, find and load two rounds of ammunition into the magazine and then load one into the chamber of the firearm. Now that we have learned how to load the firearm the next step is how do we unload and verify it safe. We will work through a range cease fire situation and return it to the shooting bench in a safe manner. This may seem overwhelming when you are new to this but let me assure you it will be great. All you have to do is bring a smile and a good learning attitude.

The course is a mandetory 8 hours based on a full class of 12 people. If there are significantly less people the time may vary slightly
